Important -- Pick Up & Drop Off Procedures

We are asking all families to use the drive-thru procedures if possible. Please reserve the walk-in method for rare occurrences. Thank you.

Some points to remember about Pick Up and Drop Off:

  • To avoid congestion, we ask that you turn into the WEST driveway of the school, dropping off your student(s) in the rear of the building between 8:00am and 8:30am. You can then exit through the EAST driveway. The easiest way to get into line would be to take Midway Park off of Singer to Midway Place. Please follow the safety patrol’s instructions to ensure an orderly and safe drop off. Follow the same directions for pick up also.
  • Kindergarten students may be picked up between 3:00 and 4:00 pm everyday. If you have other students at TMES that are not in Kindergarten (1st -6th grade) then you must follow the Elementary pick up time of 3:30 - 4:00 pm. Our families with only Kindergarten students should pick-up their child between 3:00 to 3:30 pm. All other students will not be ready for pick up until 3:30 pm.

  • Please do not park in any business parking lots along Midway Place, Midway Park or Office Blvd. We want to be good neighbors so please be mindful not to block any entrances or exits into area businesses. The only available parking for you is along the street.

  • We would love parent volunteers! We need volunteers daily between 8:00 to 8:30 am and then again between 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Please call the front office at 796-0149 or email MJ at msams@tmesnm.com if you are interested in volunteering.

  • The gates for drop-off will be opened at 8:00 am and closed at 8:25 am. If your child needs to be dropped off before 8:00 am, then you will need to park along the street and walk your child into the school for before care. You will then be billed accordingly. If your child arrives after the gates are closed at 8:25 am, then you will need to park along the street and walk your child into the school to sign them in late.

  • The gates for pick-up will be closed at 4:00 pm. All children remaining for pick up will go to aftercare and parents will be billed accordingly. If your child is in aftercare, you must park along the street and walk-in to get your child.

FAQ's:

  • I have a Kindergartner and a 2nd grader. When do I pick them up?

Between 3:30 to 4:00 pm everyday.

  • I only have a Kindergartner. When do I pick him/her up?

Between 3:00 to 3:30 pm everyday. The Kindergarten students will be waiting in front of the school for pick-up starting at 3:00 pm. Those Kindergartners with siblings or in a carpool with other TMES students, will be waiting with the rest of our students in the back of the school starting at 3:30 pm for pick-up.

  • When do I drop off my child to school?

All students, K- 6th, should be dropped off between 8:00 to 8:25 am everyday unless you are using the before care program.

  • I am using the before or after care program. How do I drop-off or pick-up my child?

You will need to park along the street and walk your child into or out of the school. Please remember to sign-in or sign-out your child.

  • I have general questions about TMES (drop off/pick up procedures, volunteering, etc.), who do I ask?

Please email MJ at: msams@tmesnm.com or call the front office at 796-0149. MJ will answer your questions via email as soon as possible or forward them on to the person who can answer them.

  • When does before and after care begin?

Click here to get before and after care info and also the registration form. We have an exciting new program!

  • Can I come into the classroom and speak with the teacher about my child?

Please note- the teachers are not available to meet with you before or after school for the first week.  If you need to communicate with comments, questions, or concerns, please use your child’s communication folder. You may also set up a time to meet with your child’s teacher if you call the office. The office will take a message and have the teacher call you back outside of class time. Once your child’s teacher has given you their email address, you may also communicate through email.

  • I want to volunteer in the classroom. How do I set up a time to volunteer?

Our policy is that we do not have parent volunteers in the classroom until after the first two weeks of school. After that point, we welcome parent volunteers. If you would like to volunteer in your child's classroom, please arrange a time and date with the teacher. It is at the discretion of the teacher on when volunteers are allowed in their classroom. Please be aware that all volunteers need to get paperwork from the front office to get a background check with APS in order to volunteer inside the classroom.
